As many of you know, the situation in Haiti is heartbreaking and the needs are great. Many have lost their friends, family, homes, and jobs. The Waterbury Church of Christ is putting together a relief fund for the Christian families in Haiti. Please assist in this situation by donating to this worthy cause. To quote Edmund Burke, "All it takes for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." Please do not let this be said of you...donate today! Update - January 27, 2010
After everything lost, the brethren in Haiti refused to give up or stop prasing God. Last Sunday they were able to meet in someone's home to worship God and thank him for his many blessings. My dad, Evands Pierre (minister of the Gospel in Haiti), said "Although the Church building is gone, the Church is still alive." Right now we are in the process of looking for a temporary rental property outside the Port-au-Prince area for the Church to worship.
Most survivors like my family are having to relocate outside of P-A-P. Many are still in the streets, and some are living under tents donated by the U.S government. As for my family, my mother was able to have the surgery done on her leg and my injured sister received the medical care she needed; they are doing better living under a tent now. Although the worse is behind them, the brethren in haiti still have a long way ahead of them. So, please we still need your prayers and support to help them rebuild their lives.

Update - February 3, 2010
Thanks to your generous donations, over 700 lbs of rice, 300 lbs of beans, several bottle of cooking oil, and tuna cans were purchased to distribute among the brethren this coming Friday. We've also managed to make a down payment on the rental property located a few miles east of P-A-P, but cannot move in until the full amount is paid and repairs made. It is our prayer that they will have a place to worship in the next couple weeks. So, on behalf of the Hatian brethren i want to express my gratitude for all the support we've been getting thus far.
Today, i was informed of 5 different families who lost their homes, and i pray that we will be able to help them get back on their feet Lord willing. One possibility is to make use of the Church building (when we get it) as a temporary shelter place if needed.
This week the Waterbury Church is filling up a couple of barrels with toiletry items and clothes to ship down there next week, because those things are becoming more scarce and more expensive. The survivors in Haiti are fighting really hard to keep going, and your help is greatly appreciated to assist them in that regard. Please, we continue to ask for your prayers and support as we help them rebuild and recover from this tragedy. Praise be to our Lord and Savior Jesus-Christ.

Update - February 23, 2010
As Haiti is still dealing with the aftermath of the recent devastating earthquake, the urgency of the situation seems to be fading away in the media; however, we are going to keep up with our relief effort for as long as we can. This past week we have managed to ship to Haiti three barrels filled up with necessary items, and we pray that they will arrive there soon. Also, a five years contract has been signed for the rental property where the Church can worship properly. This week, they are making some repairs to the building, and hopefully the place will be available by this coming Sunday.
Many people are still in pain, hungry, homeless, and others like my family living under tents (which is a blessing). My mother had another surgical procedure on her leg this past Thursday, because the first one was not a success. There are a couple members of the Church who are in the hospital, but their situation is improving. It is our hope to start helping some people with their living situation, like build new homes, rebuild or fix old ones. Basically, we just want to assist them in anyway that we can to help improve their living situation.
You have our deepest gratitude for all your help so far, but there is still much to be done. The road to recovery is long and steep, but with your help we can continue to assist them. Glory to God our Father !!!
